Philip Sayce
The Canadian-American guitarist and singer Philip Sayce is one of the defining artists of modern blues rock. His music combines raw energy with soulful elements and bears a distinct stylistic signature, influenced by musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Eric Clapton.
Sayce was already performing in Toronto as a teenager and became an early member of Jeff Healey’s band, with whom he toured internationally. This was followed by stints as a guitarist with, amongst others, “Melissa Etheridge” and “Uncle Kracker”. Today he is primarily active as a solo artist and reaches a wide audience with his live concerts.
His performances are characterised by an intense stage presence and improvisational guitar playing. Festival appearances, such as at the “Crossroads Guitar Festival”, underscore his significance within the blues rock scene.
With his Fender Stratocaster “Mother”, Philip Sayce develops a distinctive sound that bridges tradition and contemporary musical aesthetics. A new studio album has been announced for spring 2026, from which he will present the first tracks live.
